Geneva Joan Beauchemin, born on September 29, 1930, in northern Maine, passed away at her home in Smithfield, Virginia, on February 13, 2025.

Geneva was trained as a registered nurse but chose to dedicate her life to being a devoted wife and mother. She is survived by her children Kathryn Mainer, Linda Wile, Lesa NeSmith, Carolyn Beauchemin, Ruth Beauchemin, and Mark Beauchemin. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, George Edd Beauchemin.

A talented and passionate handicrafter, Geneva found joy in creating through traditional New England hooked rugs, wire and beaded jewelry, quilting, tatting, knitting, crocheting, counted cross-stitch, and weaving with various looms. Her love for craftsmanship and creativity was a defining part of her life, leaving a legacy of beautiful, handmade treasures.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Second Street Bistro, 115 Arthur Way, Newport News, Virginia 23602. The family deeply appreciates the love and support received during this time.
