Garrett David
Feiner
May 29, 1972 — Dec 26, 2025
YORKTOWN
With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Garrett David Feiner, who left this world on December 26, 2025, at the age of 53. Garrett's life was one of dedication, warmth, and creativity, and he will be remembered as a beloved husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend.
Garrett was born in Buffalo, NY, where he spent the early years of his life and many summers growing up. After the blizzard of 1977, Garrett's family relocated to Williamsburg, VA, where he grew up and eventually graduated from Bruton High School in 1990. His love for photography began in his youth, leading him to pursue his passion further. Garrett earned an associate's degree in photography from Thomas Nelson Community College, where his talent and creativity began to truly shine.
For the past 26 years, Garrett worked with Candid Photography, where he became known for his skill in capturing the joy and spirit of children through school and sports photography. His work touched countless families, and his ability to make children feel at ease in front of the camera made him a cherished figure in our community. Garrett's talent and commitment to his craft were matched only by the kindness and generosity he showed to everyone he encountered.
Garrett had a wide array of passions that brought him joy throughout his life. He had a lifelong love, shared with his father, for Mustang cars, with a particular fondness for their power, style, and the freedom they symbolized. Garrett was also a dedicated fan of the Buffalo Bills, supporting his team with unwavering loyalty. Just last month, Garrett and Brooke had the incredible opportunity to attend a game at Highmark Stadium. It was a dream come true for Garrett, and he spoke often of the excitement he felt being in the stadium, surrounded by fellow Bills fans. In his downtime, Garrett enjoyed fishing and attempting to play golf, always bringing his signature sense of humor and positivity to whatever he did. At home, he was never without the company of his beloved cats—Luna, Bubs, and Kelly—who brought him endless comfort and joy, and were a constant source of happiness in his life.
Garrett is survived by his devoted wife of 16 years, Brooke Feiner, with whom he shared a deep and enduring love. He is also survived by his parents, Chuck and Cookie Feiner, who take great pride in the man Garrett became. Garrett's loving sister and brother-in-law, Sheri and Roel Ocampo, as well as his niece Maddie, nephew Tristan, and aunt Darlene Rhoades, also survive him. His extended family includes his mother-in-law Tricia Connell, sister-in-law Blaire Connell, and Valerie Lora, a chosen member of the family.
Garrett was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Irene and Joseph Milkovic, his second cousin David Roth, and his father-in-law Henry Connell. Their loss, alongside Garrett's, leaves an empty space in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
While Garrett's passing leaves a profound ache, his memory lives on through the countless memories, photographs, and moments he shared with those fortunate enough to know him. A celebration of life will be held to honor his life and legacy at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Water's Edge Church, 6830 George Washington Hwy, Yorktown, Va. A reception will immediately follow the service. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made in Garrett's honor by contributing to the Grafton Complex Athletic Booster Club scholarship fund, a program that Garrett held close to his heart.
