Evelyn Harrod was born on April 30, 1950 in Newport News, VA to the late Thomas and Florence Gwynn. She answered the Master's call and peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 12, 2026 at home.

At an early age, Evelyn was baptized at First Baptist Church Morrison, where she was born and raised in the church family. Evelyn graduated from G.W. Carver class of 1968. She retired from Dominion Energy and Christopher Newport College.

Evelyn favorite saying was "I will be alright" and alright she was and is.

Evelyn had no biological children, but she had lots of children she loved and cherished from birth to adulthood. Her love was greatly extended to family and friends whom she truly enjoyed.

Evelyn is predeceased by her parents; two brothers, Thomas Gwynn Jr. and Robert Gwynn; and one sister, Mary Byrd.

Evelyn leaves to mourn; two sisters; Lorraine Marbury, Christine Morris; and one brother, Nathaniel Gwynn.

A Memorial service will be held at a later date.
