Elliott Coleman Byrd went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 27, 2026. He was born May 27th, 1935 in Clinton, NC. He was predeceased by his father, Vaston E. Byrd; mother, Betty N. Byrd; brothers, J. David Byrd and Raymond Byrd; sisters Pearl Lewis of Fayetteville, NC and Rosa B. Bass of Clinton, NC.

Mr. Byrd is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jane Callis Byrd; his son, Elliott Coleman Byrd II, and daughter-in-law Amy, grandchildren Elizabeth Coleman (Cole) Spain; Scott Elliott Byrd, and step-granddaughter Amanda Glaser; great-grandson "Benny," step-great-grandson Luke and step-great-granddaughter Chloe.

Mr. Byrd was a longtime member of Liberty Live Church, Hampton, VA, serving as deacon, Head Usher, and on many committees. Mr. Byrd was employed by NNS + DD Co. for 40 years.

A visitation will take place at Liberty Live Church, Hampton, VA on Tuesday, September 8th, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. followed by a funeral service at 2:00 P.M. Burial will take place at Albert G. Horton Jr. State Veterans Cemetery on Friday, September 11, 2026 at 11:00AM.
