Edna Belle Gray, 89, completed her earthly journey on Saturday, October 30, 2021 peacefully at her home. She was preceded in death by her second husband John J. Gray and her first husband Manson C. Donnally.

She was born in Ohio to George I. and Hattie F. Gardner. Edna enjoyed gardening and anything involving flowers, especially roses and zinias. Jigsaw puzzles and cooking were also activities that she was fond of. Edna also had a liking for the color red.

She will be remembered for her caring and compassionate personality as well as for growing tomatoes by the bucket full. Edna loved having her family and those she cared about over and preparing meals for them. She was especially known for her chicken and dumplings and her potato salad. Holidays or any occasion that brought people together brought Edna joy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both of her husbands and her daughter Brenda Sue West. Left to cherish her memory is her son Curtis M. Donnally and his wife Paula J. Donnally; grandchildren: Gene A. Donnally, Katelyn J. Donnally, Daniel W. Donnally; a great-grandchild Breanna M. Donnally and numerous friends and neighbors.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date in remembrance of Edna.

The family would like to personally thank the staff of Amedisys Hospice Care of Williamsburg for their compassionate care for both the family and Edna as she proceeded in her heavenly journey. Special thanks to Yvette, who was Edna's bath aid who never failed to brighten Edna's day and make her smile and nurses Alisha, Randi, Janice and Lori who offered care to Edna.
