Donald Lee Day, 56, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, after a short battle with cancer. Born in Ohio, on October 28,1969, He had been a peninsula resident for 48 years. Donald made a career as a Engineer Tech for NASA and retired after 37 years.

He was preceded in death by his mother in April 2020, Gertrud Day and his father, November 2021, Clement Gerald Day.

Donald is survived by his spouse, Gillian Day; two children, Noah Day and Olivia Day; sisters, Marsha Cundiff (Lawrence) of Hampton, Reba Sutton (Duglas) of Yorktown; brothers, Benjamin Day (Nancy) of Farmville, NC and Michael Day (Jessica) of Yorktown.

A visitation will be on Friday, March 20, 2026 from 6 - 7 PM at W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home.
