Dianne Marie
Fennell
d. Apr 27, 2026
Dianne Marie Fennell was called from labor to reward on Monday, April 27, 2026, in God's infinite wisdom.
Dianne was born in Illinois to the late Edna Eley and Walter Thomas Eley. She was raised in Hampton, Virginia, and also spent part of her youth in Madrid, Spain, due to her father's military service. After graduating from high school, she gave birth to her beloved daughter, Ariana Marie Williams.
Dianne later pursued her education in medical assisting, specializing in billing and coding. Upon completing her studies, she began her career at what is now known as Versability Resources, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities of all ages. She also worked part-time at Eggleston Services, where she cared for adults with disabilities. After 27 years of dedicated service, Dianne retired from Versability Resources.
In her later years, Dianne devoted her time to caring for her father, while continuing to be a loving, loyal sister and an amazing, devoted mother. She loved her family deeply and cherished her coworkers and friends. Dianne was beautiful inside and out, known for her unique sense of style and her love for purses and handbags, but most of all the love she had for her daughter she would have went to the end of the world and back for her, she wasn't just a mom she was her best friend and she is her angel 👼
She was preceded in death by her mother, Edna Eley; her father, Walter Thomas Eley; and her granddaughter, London Elizabeth Williams.
A visitation will take place from 4:00 - 6:00 P.M. on Friday, May 8th, 2026 at W.J. Smith and Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place the following day, Saturday, May 9th, 2026 at Zion Prospect Baptist Church. A graveside service will follow.
She leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Doris Jefferson (Vincent), and her daughter, Ariana Marie Williams, along with a host of family and friends who will miss her dearly.
