Daniel David Hill Jr.
Born July 5, 1941 – February 22, 2019
Danny as he was affectionately called was born in New York City the youngest son of Daniel David Hill Sr. and Josephine Alexina Smith Hill. He resided in New York for 65 years and held a special love for his neighborhood of Harlem. He was a New Yorker through and through. It was there he developed his love for Italian food culture. Danny was a great storyteller. The rich history of the city and his experiences living there became the inspiration for many of the stories he loved to tell. He had a passion for jazz music and growing up in Harlem gave him firsthand knowledge of its history. Yvette Mingco, for whom he served as a mentor and father figure, can attest to his love and knowledge of good food, fine wine and spirits. Danny was a true sports fan and enjoyed watching all types of sports with the NY Giants being his favorite team. He was an avid golfer and while serving in the US Army wore the number 24 as a part of the Army basketball team.
Danny was employed by Parks Sausage Company as a sales and merchandiser representative until the company closed. He made the transition to the Coca-Cola Company where he became a regional sales and merchandise manager until his retirement in 2006.
Danny was a doting grandfather and great grandfather. During his last days, Danny was surrounded by the family he dearly loved and who loved him. He is survived by his life partner Helen J.
