Cynthia Seaver, 70, passed away unexpectedly May 7, 2021, in the comfort of her own home. She was born July 25, 1950 in Flushing, Queens, the daughter of Robert and Eleanor (Fredrickson) Sutherland.

Cynthia loved and adored her "husband" Hammer, her two children, and her two grandchildren. She was an amazing person, mother, sister, and friend. She had a huge heart and wore her heart on her sleeve. She had an effective presence and had an innate ability of making anyone she met feel like they have always been a part of her world. She lived her life to the fullest and would never turn down a good time. She will be forever missed by all that had the honor of knowing her.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Diane "Bonnie" Childs. Surviving, in addition to her "Husband", Christopher "Hammer" Beres of Newport News; is her daughter, Lindsay Van Houten of Newport News; her son Daniel Seaver of Ronkonkoma, NY; her two brothers, Robert Sutherland and his wife Patty of Apex, NC, Lloyd Sutherland and his wife Christine of Nesconset, NY; two grandchildren, Avery and Cypress; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5 to 6 PM on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home. A private service of remembrance will follow.
