After a sudden illness, our sweet "Renae" went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tues. Aug. 17 ^th . Renae was born in Newport News, VA on May 4 ^th , 1958. She graduated from high school at Hampton Roads Academy. She then went on to pursue higher education, graduating first from Christopher Newport University and then gaining her Masters in Education degree from Regent University. Renae always knew that she wanted to be a teacher, first playing school with her siblings when she was a child and then becoming a reading specialist for Hampton City Schools. In her teaching career, she also worked at other schools in Virginia and North Carolina.

A devout Christian, Renae loved reading her Bible, going to church and serving the Lord in other ways. She was active in teaching Sunday school classes and working in the church nurseries. She was baptized at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Newport News and in later years was active with Open Door Baptist & Bethel Temple churches in Newport News and Faith Fellowship in Williamsburg.

Renae is survived by her husband of 26 years, Kenneth Robbins; her father, Leon Clyde Blasingame; brothers, Lee (Shawn) & Ben (Dawn); and her precious nieces and nephews. Her mother, Joyce, has gone before her and is celebrating with her now in heaven.

There will be a visitation at W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home on Friday, August 20, 2021 from 1 to 2 PM, with a funeral service immediately following at 2 PM with Pastor Jerry Jutras officiating.  Burial will follow at Peninsula Memorial Park.
