Cheryl Seay Moore, 63, passed away at her home Saturday evening, August 28, 2021. Cheryl had battled congestive heart failure as a result of Type 1 Diabetes and went peacefully in the comfort of her home. Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Bertha Seay of Hampton.

Cheryl will be greatly missed by those who were closest to her, especially her family. Cheryl is survived by her husband of 28 years, Donald "Don" Moore of Poquoson, and their three children: Dorothy "Marie" Moore of Newport News, Melissa Schueckler and husband Stephen of Portsmouth, and Christopher Moore of Toms River, NJ; her sister, Joyce Blymyer and husband Bobby; and brother Ricky Seay of Gloucester.

Cheryl was a wonderful wife, mother, and friend to all who knew her, generously giving of her time and energy whenever she could. Don and Cheryl were members of Hilton Baptist Church in Newport News and enjoyed the love and fellowship that they encountered.

Cheryl, a life-long resident of the Hampton Roads area, graduated from Bethel High School and spent most of her life involved in equestrian sports. A long-time member of Bethel Horseman's Association, Cheryl was a champion barrel racer, a legacy that she passed on to her children. Cheryl worked for Newport News, Inc./Avon for many years on the packaging line and in the shipping/orders department before going to work for Riverside Medical Group in the housekeeping department until 2012, when her health caused her to retire.

Cheryl and Don married in 1993 and have had 28 wonderful years together, where they have raised a blended family and have worked side-by-side to love and support one another and their children. They have had many adventures together, traveling all over the country, visiting friends and family, and seeing places they always wanted to.
