It is with great sadness that the family of Charles Edward Ferrell, Sr. announce his passing on November 27, 2021 in Newport News, Virginia.

Charles was born April 23, 1958 to Charlie Ferrell and Virgie Williams. On May 6, 1980, Charles married Nancy Ann Chisman, and they became the parents of three children; Nancy Ann Ferrell, Timothy Edward Ferrell, and Charles Edward Ferrell, Jr. Unfortunately Nancy succumbed to illness soon after the birth of their third child.

Charles later went on to marry Erika C. Sims on June 14, 1999, (along with her three children James, Jasmine and Denzell). Together they raised their blended family.

Charles reluctantly retired from his position of supervisor of a Waste Management crew in York County in the spring of 2018 upon getting a life changing diagnosis of end stage kidney failure. He was an employee of York County for thirty three years.

Charles is survived by his wife Erika Ferrell; children, Nancy Ann Ferrell, Timothy Edward Ferrell, and Charles Ferrell Jr.; his bonus children, James Ellis, Jasmine Ellis, and Denzell Sims; brother Timothy (Popcorn) Ferrell; sister Janice Lewis of Hampton; family Matriarch Emma Chisman; and a plethora of grandchildren who loved their Poppa.

Per his wishes Charles will be cremated. The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
