Carolyn Sue Hewitt passed away Saturday, March 4, 2023 at the age of 77. Her final moments were spent peacefully in her home with her loving family by her side.

Carolyn, better known as "Sue", was born in North Carolina and lived most of her life in Hampton, Virginia. She retired from Food Lion after 25 years of loyal service. Her children and grandchildren were her life and she loved as much as she was loved. One of her most favorite things to do was to go camping with her family which created so many fond memories that we all cherish.

She was an amazing daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. We will never forget the love she had for her family and the countless hours spent taking care of all her grand babies. The family will miss her dearly but find peace knowing she is no longer in pain and is reunited with her beloved husband Clayton.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Hewitt; her parents, Alice and Clyde Caldwell; and her granddaughter Rosemary Hewitt. She is survived by her children, Mark Hewitt, Lisa Edwards (Larry) and Rachel Price (Sonny); grandchildren, Justin Price (Jasmine), Jenna Price (Jake), Blake Edwards, Rachel Edwards, Nate Hewitt; her four sisters, Peggy, Betty, Debby and Gina; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their deep sense of gratitude to her sisters and many others for the excellent care and companionship they provided to her.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Hampton Memorial Gardens, 155 Butler Farm Road, Hampton Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to the Alzheimer's Association in her honor.

Arrangements are being handled by W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home.
