Carol Faith
Blankenship
d. Aug 10, 2025
Newport News
Carol Faith Blankenship, 82, of Newport News passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family. Carol came into the world on October 18, 1942 and was adopted at birth.
Carol was a charter member of Reformation Christian Fellowship and retired "twice" from Riverside Regional Medical Center as an EKG technician. After retirement she became a full-time "Namaw" and was given plenty of opportunities to baby-sit at a moments notice and spoil her grandchildren to her heart's content. She loved to have family over to the house on holidays, always serving everyone else until finally sitting at the kid's table to to enjoy the meal with them. Carol loved to attend church where she would praise her God through song and prayer. On nice days she and her husband Terry would take short trips to Yorktown, Williamsburg and the Colonial Parkway when she would make it known, "I want to go fishing!" When this request was made they never had a tackle box, bait or poles. She loved fishing. Carol also loved going to the beach, being in the sunshine and Sunday lunches after church with family at McDonalds in Smithfield. Other notable achievements are being noticed as a regular at area Golden Corrals and at one point during high school she was crowned "Miss Paramount" at the Paramount Movie Theater in Newport News.
Carol is survived by her Loving husband of 43 years Terry Blankenship; a sister Nancy Moss; four children: Cindi Regan (Billy), Jacki Cecil (Doral), Scott Kearney (Jill) and Jason Kearney (Amy); grandchildren: Chance Cecil (Carrie), Moriah Catron (Daniel), Hadley Cecil (fiancee Reginaldo Peron), Grace Cecil, Noah Cecil (Faith), Caleb Cecil, Bria Kearney, Katelyn Kearney (fiancee Anthony Armanda), Allison Abadie (Sebastain), Ashley Kearney, Samantha Kearney and Emily Kearney; great-grandchildren: Macy, Leeanna, Josiah, Naomi, Lydia, Paul, Reed and Chapel.
The family will receive friends at W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home on Thursday, August 14, 2025 from 6-7 PM. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 PM on Friday, August 15th with Pastor Kenneth D'Auria officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.
