Carl Lee Hooks, age 80, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was born in Wilson, North Carolina to the late Cardell Coley  and Gladys Hooks.

Carl worked for Newport News Shipbuilding for 13 years and later retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a Nuclear Manager after 28 years of service. He was an Army Veteran.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Helen E. Hooks; two sisters, Josephine Luckey (Bobby) and Candi Johnson (John); two grandchildren, Jazmyne Hooks and Semaj Hooks; two great-grandchildren, Maleek Etheridge and Maleeyah Etheridge and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, James P. Hooks; his daughter, Susan V. Lee and a great-granddaughter, Jurnee Etheridge.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 11:00 in the Hampton Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Pastor Don Phelps officiating.
