Brigitta Freeman of Newport News, born on October 27, 1923, passed peacefully on Monday, May 2, 2022.

She was an avid knitter and enjoyed hand crafts of all kinds. She won several blue ribbons through the years for her projects submitted to Virginia State Fairs. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed doing yard work and flower gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter J. Freeman; her son, Norman Freeman; and her daughter, Barbara Freeman. She is survived by her daughter, Diane Reilly (Ed) of Newport News; grandson, Jerry Freeman (Todd) of Portsmouth; grandson, Brian Freeman (Brittany) of Portsmouth; granddaughter, Kelly Pearson of Hampton; grandson, Nick Reilly of Newport News; great-granddaughters, Savannah Freeman, Alyssa Pearson, Taylor Pearson and Adylynn Reilly; and great-grandson, Triston Pearson.

Visitation will be from 11 AM to 12 Noon on Thursday, May 5, 2022, with a funeral immediately following at 12 Noon at W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Peninsula Memorial Park.
