Brenda Carol Cunningham, 72, of Newport News, VA, passed away peacefully at home on August 26, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Brenda was born on January 14, 1954, in Hampton, VA, to Charles P. and Dorothy M. Turlington. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her beloved son, Sean "Chunk" Cunningham.
Those who knew Brenda will remember her for the love, warmth, and joy she brought into every life she touched.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Ed Cunningham; her dear daughter, Kelly Manry, and son-in-law, Matt; her cherished grandson, David Manry; her brother, Larry Turlington, and his wife, Zella; her loyal dog, Dexter; and many dear friends who loved her deeply.
Brenda spent many years as a Proposal Specialist at an environmental engineering firm, where she was deeply admired and respected by her colleagues. She and Ed loved cruising together, often sharing those memorable trips with friends. She was a kind, devoted wife and mother, and above all, a proud and loving Nana. Her grandson David was her shining star, and she cherished every moment spent playing games with him and helping him with his schoolwork.
