Betty C. Manzie, passed away peacefully on, Sunday, May 17, 2026, in her home surrounded by family. Originally born in Mt. Airy, NC, she moved to the Peninsula at 18 years old where she married Bob Manzie, 61 years ago this coming June 4, 2026.

She is survived by her husband, Bob Manzie, their 4 children and their spouses, Dyane Vaughan and her husband, Dudley Vaughan, Teresa Jett, Tony Manzie, Todd Manzie, and his wife, Jennifer Manzie. She was "Mamaw" to 7 grandchildren and their spouses, Tiffany Vaughan Copeland and her husband, Bryan Copeland, Courtney Marie Harrell and her husband, Andrew Harrell, Jacob Sean Jett and his wife, Caitlin Jett, Leslie Nicole Foltz and her husband, Brian Foltz, Matthew Robert Jett, Justin Manzie and his wife, Savannah Manzie, and Katelyn Manzie; as well as 4 great-grandchildren, Dillon Andrew Harrell, Emma Marie Nicole Harrell, Connor Patrick Foltz, and Leela Dare Jett.

There will be a visitation on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 from 11-12 PM at W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at Noon with Pastor Jim Weston officiating. Burial to follow in Peninsula Memorial Park.
