Barbara Jean Turner Hardy, age 87, of Yorktown, VA passed away peacefully at home to be with the Lord on January 19, 2026. She will be deeply missed.

Barbara was born on July 3, 1938 in Newport News, Virginia. She graduated from Hampton High School, and lived in Hampton and Yorktown for most of her life. She was a devoted Christian and much beloved by her family. Barbara loved to cook: she made delicious homemade breads and desserts, and enjoyed preserving vegetables and fruits that her husband grew in their garden.

Barbara is proceeded in death by her husband of 61 years, Talmadge Neville Hardy; her parents Morris Moss Turner and Doris Dillion Turner; and her brother Kenneth Turner.

She is surived by her sister Donna Turner Kirby of Bedford, VA; her daughter Karen Hardy Rinehart of Yorktown, VA; her daughter Christine Hardy Wallace of Kailua, HI; her son Derek Talmadge Hardy of Williamsburg, VA; her grandson William Brett Rinehart of Yorktown, VA; and her grandson Andrew Christopher Wallace of Chesapeake, VA.

A private memorial service will be held by the family in April.
