Barbara Ann Szuch was born April 12, 1936 in Trenton, New Jersey and passed away at the young age of 89 on September 5, 2025 in Newport News, Virginia.  She was surrounded by the people she loved the most and her beloved little fur baby Phoebe as she peacefully passed. Barbara spent many years at her favorite location, Seaside Heights, New Jersey, to many of us in the family, the Jersey shore. She was a hardworking, dedicated, independent woman that never backed down, never gave up, and loved her family. Barbara was a force to be reckoned with, and has entered her eternal rest with her husband George Szuch. She is survived by 4 children Barbara Sooth (Brian), Deborah Gafgen, Ricky Gafgen (Christina), and Kim Sarafain. She has many grandchildren; Leah Coats (Johnnie), Terry Gafgen (Tracie), Amanda Sooth (David), Camden Sooth (Krystal), Tracey Gafgen, Brian Gafgen, David Gilleo, and Blake Sooth that love her very much, and many great-grandchildren. Also a dear friend Lisa Collins. Gigi was a one of a kind and she will be greatly miss by all that knew her. Gigi loved her little critters so please forward any donations in her honor to the ASPCA or an animal shelter of your choice. There is a visitation being held in Barbara's honor on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 from 6:00 - 7:00  PM at W.J. Smith and Son Funeral Home, 210 Harpersville Road Newport News, Virginia 23601.
