Audrey Donaldson Thatcher of Hampton, formerly of Pawtucket, RI, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on October 24, 2021, at the age of 83.

She was married to the love of her life and soul mate for 69 years, MSgt (Ret) Charles "Chuck" H. Thatcher, who preceded her in death in January of this year. Audrey was a devoted and loving mother to her two sons, Ronald and David, both of Hampton, and is also survived by her sister Arlene Donaldson Pearson of Warwick, RI, and a niece and three nephews.

Audrey and Chuck were highly involved in country and western line dancing for many years. She loved playing Bunco and Pinochle, as well as being an avid bowler. In her Red Hat Society, she rose to the rank of "Queen Mum".

Audrey and their two sons accompanied Chuck on two tours to the Philippines, making many long term friendships. She will be sorely missed by all of her friends in both Virginia and Rhode Island.

Visitation will be held at Northside Christian Church in York County on Saturday, October 30, 2021 beginning at 10 AM with a funeral service following at 11 AM with Pastor Larry Jones officiating. Burial will be held at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milners Road, Suffolk at 3 PM on November 8, 2021.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Northside Christian Church, 1300 George Washington Memorial Highway, Yorktown, VA 23693.
