Arthur "Jay" Jackson Howell, 83, passed away November 8, 2024.  Mr. Howell was born in Erwin, Tennessee but has been a Peninsula resident for over 60 years.  He was a Master Shipbuilder and retired as a machinist from Newport News Shipbuilding, and was a member of Huntington Mennonite Church.

Survivors include his wife Nancy Wenger Howell of Newport News; one sister Pam "Pansy" Pangborn of Maryland; and nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was preceded in death by a son Eric Edwin Howell.

Visitation will begin at 10 AM on Friday, November 15, 2024 with a funeral service following at 11 AM in Huntington Mennonite Church, with Pastor Howard Miller officiating.  Graveside service will be on Monday, November 18, 2024 at 1 PM in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens, Harrisonburg, VA.
