Obituary

Ann Elizabeth DuVal passed away peacefully on September 29, 2021. Ann was born in Falmouth, VA and grew up in Petersburg, VA. She married on April 23, 1953 and her husband, Raymond, was deployed to the Korean War six short weeks later. She and Raymond moved many times thanks to the United States Army. By August of 1959, they had four beautiful sons and then in 1966, they returned to Raymond's previous post in Newport News and finally settled there. Ann was a devoted Christian, a supportive military spouse, and a loving mother. She was a faithful member of Denbigh Baptist Church for over 50 years serving in many capacities including the women's missions prayer circle and the hospitality committee. She also served gladly in the Gideon's Women's Auxiliary. Ann had a gift of hospitality and loved hosting holiday meals where the family could gather together.

She is survived by her son Charles DuVal and his wife Dawn; her son Wendall DuVal and his wife Rosie; her son Robin DuVal and his wife Mary; and her son Barry DuVal and his wife Cindy; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; her only sister Louise I.
