Obituary

Andrea Dawn Rowe, 54, of Yorktown, Virginia, beloved daughter of John and Linda Rowe passed away unexpectedly on June 8, 2026. Along with her parents she leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sister Michelle Rowe (Bobby) Packard of Yorktown and her nephews, Blake Packard (Helen) of Richmond and Hayden Packard of Yorktown as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends across the globe.

Andrea grew up in Hampton, Virginia, graduated from Kecoughtan High School and attended Christopher Newport University. She was fearless, fun and had a feisty free spirit. She lived in Alaska, Nevada and most recently Bradenton, Florida. She loved to travel and this was fostered by her 23+ year career in the airline industry. Her job not only gave her many hilarious stories to tell over the years, it took her all over the world and allowed her to make dear friends and live abroad. Tenacious, she taught herself Spanish and moved to Madrid, Spain, which she loved! She taught English as a second language while there, she loved the culture and the people. Andrea also loved her family and was always gracious and never forgot a birthday card. Andrea was a kidney donor, allowing part of herself to live on in her Dad. She loved animals of all kinds; she loved squirrels and they enjoyed her generous peanut meals, sometimes even sitting with her and on her, including one leader of the pack who she nicknamed "Tony Soprano". She was preceded in death by her dear pit bull Kita and a zebra finch named Buck.

While she was home in Yorktown, she loved the simple things too, like hitting Ikea with Mom to shop and have lunch or chilling with her night owl Dad in the den watching movies and late night TV. Her great sense of humor was shared with all. She had a secret call me back code with her sister that involved a toilet flush. She always liked to joke and also tried her hand at stand-up comedy. They even called her back for a second set during open mike night. Andrea loved to help people. She was just about to embark on her second act with a career in the medical field and was excited about completing her CNA. We will miss her dearly, her laugh and her smile. Andrea believed in God and talked to him daily so we have faith that we will get to see her again. She is watching over us now along with her twin nephews, grandparents and uncles who preceded her.

A celebration of her life is planned to honor what would have been her 55th birthday. She wanted a party, not a funeral. Plan to come with your stories and fun memories. Invitations and information will follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a cause near to her heart: the National Kidney Foundation, American Cancer Society or your local animal shelter.
